Karl, As I mentioned, some might interpret it that way. There is a =
great
deal of evidence that left-handedness is caused by some type of injury =
at
birth. I was born breech and my Mom always said I've been backwards =
ever
since. I guess I would argue that left-handedness is and has been =
turned
into a handicap throughout history. I was one of the fortunate few who
wasn't told I had to write with my right hand as a child in school. Can =
you
imagine what a handicap it would be if you were forced to write with the
hand that was not the most comfortable for you? Its difficult enough =
for
those who suffer an injury and have no choice. If a student finds it =
easier
to conduct a beat pattern with their left hand, the teacher who asks =
that
student to conduct the opposite way is turning a difference into a =
handicap.
That student would be forced to work overtime to meet that requirement =
and I
think its outrageous.
