Dear Bear,
It sounds like you are busy! That's great. I didn't write back to
you about the duo for Eb clarinet and bassoon because the school year
ended and I never ran into the bassoonist again. He taught bassoon
lessons at the high school after school, and was in our local symphony
orchestra, which folded. Many of our symphony musicians have left town.
My friend, Emily Singley, who was the principal clarinetist in the
symphony, is currently in Washington, D.C. auditioning for "The
President's Band" (The Marine Corps Band). I hope she gets it.
I would love to hear the unaccompanied sonata that you are
presenting to Professor Kotar. I'll bet it sounds awesome. Where is he
from? I hope he performs your piece in a nice, big concert hall filled
with appreciative listeners. How is your Doctorate going? Well, I
hope. I understand that Doctorates can be quite frustrating. I just got
home from a rehearsal of our local wind ensemble, and it is still cold
and raining out. I'm going to sleep. Love, ANNIE
