He was a wonderful player and a powerful force here not only as an oboist
but as the head of the Curtis Institute for many years after he retired from
the orchestra. Philadelphia's current principal oboist, Richard Woodhams,
was DeLancie's student at Curtis and succeeded DeLancie when he retired.

Where was he when he died and what had he been doing? I lost track of where
he settled after he left Curtis.
