Subj: [kl] Fun week in store.......

I am having such a blast this week I just have to tell somebody or I'll burst. These are the projects I am finishing up before Friday:

1. Low D extension for a low Eb bass - this one is fun. I made an extension on my lathe for a LeBlanc bass clarinet. I cut the tone hole, and am now putting on keys, and soldering levers to make it connect to the lower joint and the bell. (Why not to low C, you ask? Well the customer doesn't need or want it, just a low D).

2. An extension for a friend's English Horn. Turns out if you add an extension of about 53 mm to an English Horn, between the lower joint and the bell, a low Bb will come out when you finger a B. Since some pieces require a low Bb - Pictures at an Exhibition, notably, this is a desireable thing. I finished it up today. My friend is scheduled to test it out on Thursday.

3. Making two barrels for another client.

4. Rush Christmas order for a "great" bass clarinet mouthpiece.

WHat a blast I'm having! I love all the different kinds of projects.

Happy Holiday Season!
