As far as mouthpieces go, the Clark Fobes Debut would be a fantastic piece
to have on all the clarinets.

Clark, are you reading? I agree 110% with Richard! I cannot say enough
good about your mouthpiece for these young people. In fact, I have made the
suggestion that they use it, barring any other acts of God, nature or
whatever (breakage, etc.) all through high school and even into college,
unless a private teacher makes a different recommendation. All too often,
teachers AND students play mouthpiece roulette, and intonation and
consistency intone quality is sacrificed. Students need to get a consistent
tone quality, and learn basic sound control, which means using the SAME
mouthpiece throughout their first few years, not switching all over the
 place.
I have been very impressed with the Debut. My students I had before I
recently took a break from teaching all got a consistently nice sound from
it and their parents were impressed by the REASONABLE price they paid for a
product their child could use all through school. What a deal!

 Thank you, Clark!!!
