Okay, for those of you who DON'T know...the New Mexico State University
Symphonic Winds is travelling to Washington DC in two weeks for a short
performance tour. Those of you on mailing lists whom I haven't had the
pleasure to meet, it'd be great to at least get the chance to shake your
hand (our schedule is quite packed, so socializing is pretty much out,
except for maybe a late night drink or two, but I'd still like to meet
anyone in the DC area). It'd also be great to say hi to my
threeve-gajillion family members in the area, too. So, here's a
rundown of what we're doing, and when:

 Wednesday, May 16
4:50p	Arrive at Ronald Reagan Airport, Delta #678 via Dallas
6:30p	Provided dinner at Thunder Grill, Union Station
Sightseeing (I'm not sure if this is 'free' time or not)
9:30p	Check in, Holiday Inn, Tyson's Corner
(It's about halfway between Arlington and the airport)

 Thursday, May 17
11:00a	Clinic at Hotel with Col. Gabriel, US Army Bands
 12:15p	Um...this is still shady...lunch and concert for a
high school...details are still being worked...
5:00p	Provided dinner at Old Country Buffet
7:00p	Arrival at Fairfax Community/Recital Hall (*shrug*)
 7:30p	Performance: Fairfax
 9:30p	Return to hotel

 Friday, May 18
 8:30a	Depart hotel
10:00a	Attend "Pershing's Own" rehearsal (Woo woo!)
 Then lunch on own...
1:00p	Arrive at the Jefferson Memorial
 1:30p	Performance: Jefferson Memorial
2:45p	Group Photo/Sightseeing (again, um, dunno how free)
5:30p	Provided dinner at Il Porto Ristorante
 9:30p	Hotel, sleep (sh'yah, whatever)

 Saturday, May 19
8:30a	Depart Hotel, sightseeing (still possibly restricted)
3:00p	Approx load and depart time
5:40p	Depart Delta 975, Ronald Reagan Airport

We're taking a big ol' list of stuff to play, so each performance will
 vary. Here's our selections:

 Grainger: Irish Tune/Shepard's Hey
 Gorb: Awayday
Bernstein: Profanation from Symphony 1, "Jeremiah"
J.William: Summon your mom...er, Summon the Heros
 Sousa: Washington Post
 Sousa: The Thunderer
Hearshen: Symphony 1, Mvt.II: After the Thunderer
 Milhaud: Suite Francaise
 Bach: Fantasia in G
Barker: Gershwin! Medley (Help, I have become Britney Spears!)

I hope I can meet any of you out there - I'm not hard to spot. I'm the
clarinet player in the tuxedo! And I have long hair, too. I won't be
playing bass or contra for this (I'd rather not travel with the contra
anyhow, and I'm not our bassist this semester), but I'd still like to run
into some folk from those listservs as well!

 Hope to see you there!
