Here is what New Harvard Dictionary of Music has to say:
Landler [Ger] A dance of Austria and southern Germany in a slow 3/4
time. It originated as a folk dance for couples and in the later 18th
century became popular in the ballroom
The dictionary claims that K.606 is a "set of Landler", but I
haven't the faintest idea when K.606 was written compared to K.581 that
you folks are discussing.
I don't have the slightest idea if this affects your discussion, but
I thought I would report it to you.
