It depends on how long you have been playing the clarinet and what sort of
instrument it is. If it is a good quality instrument and you have been
playing for a while then it is likely to have something to do with the pads
which are on the keys near the throat A/G# key. For historical reasons the
keys on the clarinet which play A/G#/Bb are not exactly in the right place.
This makes those three notes rather weak at best.
BUT
Sometimes this is made worse by the clarinet itself. If you talk nicely to
your tame clarinet technician he/she may be able to help 'a little'. As
your repairer to increase the venting of those keys as far as he can without
interfering with the tuning (he will know how to do this). Also ask the
repairer to let you try out a leather pad instead of the usual skin pad. If
this doesn't work then a cork pad may help. It will change the tone of your
clarinet a little but you may like the new sound better. Either way, it is
a very cheap repair so you can have the clarinet changed back, if you don't
like it.

Hope this helps.

Regards

Francis
