Forgive the plug Roger, but would you and your students fancy a blow thru`
"Creature Follies" by yours truly. It`s a wind 5tet, the usual
instrumentation written as educational music designed to encourage the grade
4 - 6 student (English grading - Grade 4 requirements include D major scale,
E,G,B,C,D minor, all 2 octaves for clarinet) to acquire independent
responsibility in one per part, as opposed to several players on one part,
as in band. It has 4 movements, Marching Mule, Polar Bear Polka, Turtle
Tango, and Waltzing Wallaby, where Matilda enters in a "symphonic mood" in
the finale. AND it has audience participation in the middle of the last
movt. It`s proving to be a bit of a winner here in U.K., if you`ll forgive
my saying so. Duration is about 12 minutes, but would obviously extend with
audience participating.
