Welcome to the club, Roger! I absolutely detest the way that each
service adds and subtracts <CR>s and <LF>s and <TAB>s on its own
unilateral basis.
I'm not going to bore you with details of the *utter nonsense* that
I must go through in order to quote a message on this service. It
treats "<" at the beginning of a line as a special character requiring
special treatment unless I indent it exactly a certain number of spaces,
and it treats two consecutive <CR>s differently than three consecutive
<CR>s, and many other bits of silliness if a line is less than 60
characters.
....but you have deduced correctly that the first paragraph was
mine and the second was Tony's.
