FWIW,

I haven't tried this for some time but my recollection is that it was the
opposite - I could open a Mac Finale file in Win Finale but going in the
other direction the file lacked an accompanying resource fork file and Mac
Finale couldn't recognize it. I had a utility that came with Conversions
Plus that added the needed resource fork file to make the conversion
complete.
