But it is an entirely different effect as you are "comparing apples and
oranges". In the third movement, that 80 refers to the tempo when the three
eighth notes form a triplet and that triplet constitutes the beat. So the
triplet = 80 bpm which makes the eighth notes equivalent to 240 bpm if you
were assigning the tempo to the eighth note itself.
