You might have to buy your tuba a seat

>From the Globe and Mail

Airlines have been clamping down on what passengers can bring aboard
planes, causing grief for musicians who happen to play large
instruments.

Canadian Airlines set out rules for what one can bring. Musicians and
indeed anyone with a large object can buy an extra seat at the owner's
expense, effectively doubling the cost of the flight, strap in the item,
and maybe even get an extra bag of pretzels for the seat's occupant.
But there are limits. Tubas are OK and cellos are no problem.
But a double bass is a no-no.
Is this a bass bias?
