I stayed in the dorms during an Oklahoma Clarinet Symposium one summer, and I
recall that the dorms were cool, but a little old; not as nice as Texas tech,
but far better than Ohio state. The only problems with the dorms are that you
will probably be sharing them with high school sports and cheerleading camps (
my wife has coached cheerleading and used to take her cheerleaders to that camp)
and, if they are the same buildings I'm thinking of, they are about as far from
the music facilities as some of the hotels. I'm a college teacher in Ada, OK
(East Central University)and I visit Norman frequently; there are several nice
motels at reasonable prices, but none very close to campus. If you will have a
car, no problem.
