These are wise words indeed. I did much the same thing when I had an active
studio, The band directors were SO greatful. In one or two "clinics" I
could improve the sound of their clarinet sections by 100%. (Is that
statistically possible?) Anyway, I didn't view this as getting "in bed" the
the band directors (they were overwhelmingly male and middel-aged anyway,
LOL). I viewed it as advertising. Anyway, it was fun. Walter Grabner

Thanks Walter. I view it as "sharing the gift". I still do clinics often,
but don't give out cards anymore - just reeds. It cracks me up when a
student comes in for a first lesson after studying with basically a
babysitter, and 5 minutes later their sound goes from crap to quality.
Makes a good first impression.
