Has anyone tried any of the Music Minus One CDs from Woodwinds and
Brasswinds? Are they any good? I was considering getting one or two to
 try for fun.

Depends on what you get. The Jewels for Woodwind Quintet are great
(wonderful fidelity, and sounding group). Some of the others are actually
out of tune with themselves. They use an orchestra which was recorded about
15 years ago (just orchestra), and then superimpose a Clarinetist playing
the piece on top of it (15 years later, and 5000 miles apart). The CD's are
a lot better then the LP's though. The ones with Jerome Bunke playing are
unique - you'll have to hear them for yourself. I do like also the ones
that John Cipolla put out. If you want to play the pieces (and have a
bigger selection) at whatever tempo you want - then consider trying mine,
you can custom-order them at whatever tempos you wish, and they are always
in-tune with themselves. The fidelity is also much better.
