Thanks for the good words. I can give you the e-mails of the schools
that I'm applying to if you want to forward a note. It's so hard to get
noticed in the piles of applications. Actually, I did get called from the U
of Minn. Duluth. They were impressed with my clarinet tape and wanted to
hear my sax playing. I said sure. So Friday I hunted down a sax. A music
store 6 blocks from our house and lent me (free) a Keilworth intermediate
alto for the weekend. Then I revived the first three pages of the Glazounov
concerto, taped it on Sunday, and mailed it Monday. I used my MiniDisk
recorder to do the taping and editing and then dubbed it to cassette. For a
home recording it turned out pretty well. Luckily I still have my alto
mouthpiece and a couple of boxes of old Oliveri's.
