Hey, all this was a very interesting thread going on.

Do you have anything else to share about the Series 9 A?

I played one in High school and college and I, too found it to have a smooth
charater as well as none of the stuffiness of the R13 A. I never sat down
with a tuner with it, but I found that I stuggled less with intonation with
the orchestral ensemble with the Selmer than with a Buffet. Has anyone else
found this to be true? Often collegiate players like myself couldn't
afford/find a reasonable excuse to buy an A so used the one that the school
provided. The Buffet was purchased in 1987 or 1988. Of course, Series 9 was
much older.
