Hi Nora,

I have had some of my students on the Vito "VSP" and I, personally think
it's an excellent instrument for the money. Only slightly more expensive is
the LeBlanc "Sonata", which is another one which I find to be an exceptional
value. As to their status as "intermediate" clarinets, I would say that I
doubt seriously if you can find another "intermediate" clarinet that plays
like either one of those. The "VSP" has an inverted taper bore and the
"Sonata" has a polycylindrical bore, which is more in keeping with the top
professional lines, but I think either is an excellent choice,
(unless you want to spend quite a bit more. I saw a used "Sonata" on one of
the internet classifieds for $500.00, but I don't remember precicely which
set of classified adds it was. More than likely, however, someone else on
the list has seen it also and can fill you in on all the details.

Best of Luck,
Carl Schexnayder
