There still are a bunch of Centered Tone clarinets available, some in
need of being reconditioned with new pads and corks, but very
inexpensive. For instance, Dallas Music has two for $200 and $300
respectively, much less than they go for on ebay auctions; see their
clearance items. And, some of the other dealors listed on Anne Bell's
website listing of clarinet sites have reconditioned horns for as low as
$600 (see Charles Fail). Even check the classifieds on sneezy. Prices
for reconditioned ones, available on the Internet, seem to run from $600
to $1000.
