Subj: [kl] Announcing two new Woodwind Quintet publications
Date: Sat, 9 Jan 1999 05:44:21 -0500

Bayside Music Press has published two new arrangements for Woodwind
Quintet. Both are scored for the standard instrumentation of Flute,
Oboe, Bb Clarinet, Horn in F, and Bassoon. These two selections are:

No. 0021
LION TAMER RAG (Mark Janza, arranged by Clesen Havill Smith)
Dating from 1913, "The Lion Tamer Rag" is a splendid example of ragtime
from the Ohio River Valley This flashy rag moves ceaselessly from
beginning to end, with wide arpeggios, complex rhythmic by-play between
bass and treble, and a driving rhythmic pulse throughout. It is a tour
de force, but one that is just plain fun!
Meter: 2/4
Key: G Major, C Major
Performance Time: 4:00
Price: $15.00 (score and set of parts)

No. 0022
IN DULCI JUBILO (Anonymous 13th Century, arr. Jim O'Briant)
The oldest mention of this ancient melody describes a vision experienced
by Heinrich of Suso (d. 1366), in which he saw the angels gathering
around him and dancing with him as they sang this carol to him. Its
beauty and simplicity have kept it alive for more than 700 years, and it
remains as vital as ever today.
Meter: 6/8, 9/8, 2/4
Key: G Major
Performance Time: 3:00
Price: $10.00 (score and set of parts)
