Well I don't know what superfluous means, but the thing is that my
Bundy is not very adequate (left hand pinky keys when fingered by
themselves refuse to speak no matter how I depress them, an overall
"stuffy" feel). The keywork itself is not very good (I have do
constantly bend keys) which may be my own fault. I've tried the
Selmer CL300 plastic horn and I was literally stunned at its ease of
blowing and excellent response over my Bundy. But the main reason
that I want to get the Buffet B-12 is because I will also have an
E-12, and hopefully someday the R-13.

And if anyone wonders why I'm so partial to Buffet, it's because David
Pino, the author of "The Clarinet and Clarinet Playing" recommends the
R-13. That one book taught me more about playing than any teacher
could have and I'm forever grateful. Amazon.com is now stocking the
paperback reprint of the book, which I recommend for all (only $8).
