If there's one thing I have learned during my still short membership on
the list, it would be that asking the listers to stop discussing a topic
is like asking a hungry dog to stop eating -- it's not going to happen!!
Especially with these listers!! I'm as guilty as many of them as far as
stubborness is concerned. Plus, as you said, many valid points are being
made. Craig Countryman had a good point: "There's always the Delete
key." Besides, many of us (myself included) are interested in the topics
the "combatants" are discussing. There's a chance I may go into the
performance field -- or, I should say, there may be a chance that I'll
attempt to go into the performance field. I realize that I will have to
work extremely hard to get into even small orchestras. If I decide to do
performance, I am prepared to work that hard. In any case, what's being
discussed as far as audition practices of various orchestras will be
pertinent to my possible career. That said, on with the games!!!

(Under construction always because I have NO TIME to do anything with it!)

If a tree falls in the forest and no one is around to
see it, do the other trees make fun of it?

If an elephant falls, which suffers more: the elephant or the ground?
