I have a Selmer Soloist Oboe that cracked in one month, a fairly long crack.
The rapairman filled it with several coats of nail polish, sanding lightly in
between. The whole process took about two hours, and even I can't see the
repair and I KNOW where it was. If there is a metal insert in the hole,
chances are that the crack has gone as far as it can. Hope this helps.
