My name is Martijn Visser, I live in the old city of Delft in The
Netherlands. I am a student mechanical engineering at the Delft Univers=
of Technology and a fanatic clarinet-player.
I also studied clarinet at the Rotterdam Conservatory with Ab Vos, but =
the moment I am busy finishing my study at Delft.
I am the principal clarinettist of Krashna Musika (Student Symphony
Orchestra & Chorus (both 90 persons) in Delft). I Also played in the Du=
Student Orchestra, the Dutch Sinfonietta and other orchestras.
Today I discovered the Klarinet mailing list when I was surfing on the
internet, and realised it was time for me to sign up. Next june I am
playing the first part of Bartoks Miraculous Mandarin and the 4th Symph=
of Brahms. The Bartok part is very difficult to control, and I think th=
will have some detailed questions in the next weeks. I hope members of
Klarinet can help me to tackle those problems...
Some of the other works I have already played:
The Planets (Holst)
1st Symphony (Mahler)
Concerto for Orchestra (Lutoslawsky)
10th Symfony (Shostakovich)
Appalachian Spring (Copland)
Knoxville summer of 1915 (Barber)
2nd Symphony (Mahler)
Fran=E7ois Guyon (Olthuis) - new Dutch opera world premiere on april =
Violin Concerto (Tchaikovsky)
6th Symphony (Prokoviev)
Prelude =E0 l'apr=E8s-midi d'un faune (Debussy)
6th Symphony (Mahler)
9th Symphony (Dvorak)
Pictures at an exhibition (Mussorgsky/Ravel)
Lieder eines Fahrenden Gesellen (Mahler)
40th Symphony (Mozart)
(and also a number of choral works)
I also love to play chamber music, with different groups. One of my
favorites is Brahms' Clarinet Trio.
My clarinets are a set of Buffet Crampon (A and Bb). (A is my favorite)=
I am looking forward in discussing every aspect of clarinet-playing and=
will try to actively respond to other messages.
