Actually, I do recall reading recently (in Benjamin Ivry's bio of Poulenc,
published by Phaidon) that Goodman gave the premiere performance of the
Poulenc, and that it was commissioned by him. The piece is of course
dedicated to Honegger, but was commissioned by BG. But I don't have the
book. Does anyone know *for certain* if Poulenc wrote the Sonata for BG?
