Concerning your comment on musicality, I think there is a difference in the
TYPE of musicality that each of the pieces you mentioned (Rabaud and Mozart)
requires. Mozart requires a far more mature player, but only because it is far
more conservative a piece than the Rabaud. Many students, teachers, and
performers OVERkill the Mozart, believing it to be something from the pen of
Rachmainoff or Puccini. I could go into detail if I had time to sort it out,
but suffice it to say that every time I listen to Robert Marcellus's recording
of the Mozart, I think to myself, "Gee, I din't know it could be that easy!"
