Subj: Mozart stories
Date: Tue, 16 Apr 1996 20:51:03 -0400

The story I have heard the most is that Stadler's carrage
was robed and the composition with it. Another story is that Stadler,
like Mozart, had an affection to the ail, and sold it to pay back some
debts at a drinking establishment. Either way Stadler promised to
Mozarts wife to write the concerto down from memory after Mozart had
died. So what we have is what Stadler could remember, and some argue
that his memory must not have been as clear in some parts. So the
story goes as I have been told.
