I am now playing on a Yamaha extended bass clarinet, their top of the line
model. I must say I like it. I know quite a few bassists play Selmer, but
this horn sings, too.

The right hand thumb pads for the extended D,Db, and C are in the form of
sax left hand pinky pads, and even have rollers between the different
pads for easy sliding. It doesn't have the seventh key for the Left hand, but
who needs that many alternate fingerings if ya got the Sub D alternate? I
mean, come on: we've had to use our knee as a fingering for years.
