After two practice sessions on the thing, I find that I have more
control than with the Plasticover, and my family (my wife is not a
musician but what she likes is usually good, and my son is a music
major) tells me that it sounds the same.

So I'll continue to use it for now. I only play in the church
"orchestra" (1 each: organ, piano, guitar, electric bass, trumpet,
trombone, and alto sax) for accompanyment to the hymns and for solos
played while we're "passing the plate".

I checked on the Fibrecane, and the local Dallas music chain
(Brook-Mayes) doesn't carry them.
