I don't really know where you are, but I can suggest some good
people in places I've lived. In Los Angeles, try Gilbert Music (a.k.a. RDG,
Inc.). They're expensive, but they do very good work. The shop is on La
Cienega Blvd, and the area code is probably 310 (otherwise try 213 - it's on
the border). In Chicago (actually Evanston - area code 708) I went to
Brannen Woodwinds. Bill Brannen overhauled my Bb and A clarinets as well as
my flute; he did a super job [especially with the cork pads on the
clarinets), but he's expensive, and you will have to reserve time with him.
In Boston [this goes back ~10 years] I went to Rayburn Music (area code
617). They only did little things for me, but they were always highly regarded.
By the way, if anyone knows of additional top repair people in the
L.A./Orange County area, please let me know.
Hope that helps.
