 Just to add fuel to the discussion of clarinet materials -- have you heard
 about the Scandinavian company which is making a springless flute out of
 carbon?  Since carbon is nonmagnetic, the keys use a magnetic system instead
 of springs.  Apparently the instruments are ultra lightweight, yet hold
 their sound at loud dynamics.  OK clarinet manufacturers, will it work here?
