The current Selmer domestic French price list has their top of the line
Recital Bb at 13,755 francs and the A at 17,240. (On the basis of numerous
comments here, I am quite sure that the model numbers differ between the
U.S. and French catalogs, so I don't know what this compares to.) The
French catalog prices include 18.6% VAT and you will receive a 13% refund if
you make sure that the dealer provides you with the proper documents to be
presented at the customs desk at the time of export. (There is a useful
credit card maneuver that I will explain if anyone wants.) The major
woodwind dealers in Paris will give you 15% off list without your asking.
I don't know what skillful bargaining might accomplish on top of that.
Selmer will sell directly at their own offices, but at full list.
