Janice,

Wow, you are mentioning allot of places I went to too.

I took music lessons at Dale with Paul Elberly from 1964 or so to 1973.

I went to Wheaton High School by the way.

I have bad arthritis in my right thumb joint and I did get a strap, to hold
the clarinet, it helps, but I am not happy about it. I got the BG strap, as
Music and Arts had a one that was too cheap in quality, before I got the BG
strap. It takes some time to get used to it, but it helps.

I will do some hand surgery in the fall. I just got a new knee so enough
for now. O:)!

But I saw some good suggestions myself.

Mike

Thank you everyone,

Not familar with Lee Lachman but can look it up. I grew up with Chuck
Levin's store. It is where we got all our band instruments way back in the
1960's. I still go there regularly for reeds and other stuff. Too bad
they don't have a big collection of sheet music. For that I go to Middle C
Music or Dale's.

An adjustment to the thumb rest on the clarinet might be all that is needed.

Janice

Or you can try Lee Lachman in Silver Spring MD. Excellent repair tech.
