You can try the Kooiman Etude thumbrest. It take the pressure off the end
joint of the thumb by moving the thumbrest in toward the hand. I used to
use a neckstrap; I no longer need to with this device. They are only about
$30. You can install it yourself fairly easily, or have a technician do it.
