No. I was not a narrator for that film. I simply
created the script, got all the characters
involved, was present during all the filmings,
which were done at various locations, and finally
was also present when each of the developers
received a check for $25,000 in a big banquet at
the Hotel Astor between 44th and 45th street on
Broadway in New York City. The section with
Cuthbert Hurd may have involved my interviewing
him for his portion of the film, but I don't
remember. I do remember that his testimony was
very important because he stated the tactical real
reason why FORTRAN was developed: i.e., without a
way to create programs faster, debug them more
quickly, and update them when circumstances
changed, the computers would have been idle much
of the time. And at $5,000-$30,000 a month
rental, that was critical.

It is safe to say that the use of computers was
almost entirely dependent on software that made
programming faster, easier, and bug free.

This may be A dumb question, but is one of the
narrators in this film
Dan? If so, which one?
