This man is not a significant danger. Anyone who
would even try to play a D clarinet part on a
B-flat instrument would explode his head on the
high notes.

So there is no problem with this man. He is
unlikely to survive Mahler 5.

I am looking to get a nice dark German sound.
Please do not confuse this with a desire for a
British or Viennese sound. Can anybody help me? I
am looking for the right Bb clarinet to get that
sound since I play everything (A, Eb, D parts) on
the Bb. Well, except when I recently did the Grand
Partita, where I did all off the bassethorn parts
on a bass clarinet. I will always remember,
because I sat right next to the contrabassoon and
contrabass clarinet players.

Ed

Sorry, everyone I just couldn't resist.

Dan- I enjoyed your insight. Thanks for all.
