I've not been a member of the Board of the Huntington Beach Concert Band so I can't give details of inside deals.

Our fundraising occurs in the city park each summer where we give 2-3 free outdoor concerts. The MC tells the audience, a couple of times between numbers, where to find the two tables where band representatives (read friends and spouses of members) will joyfully and willingly accept donations.

The financial crunch has resulted in diminished support from the city of Huntington Beach. We had to move our library of music from a rented storage locker to an unused space in the public library.

There have been other austerity measures taken, but I don't know the details.

I'm the good looking guy, second from left, front row, between the two beautiful virtuosos.
