My clarinets are heavier and thicker than Buffet's. I can tell you, it
takes about 20 minutes for them to warm up properly in the winter, and
about 12 minutes or so in the summer. Every manufacturer's clarinets will
be different, even from model to model. And the mouthpiece will make a
difference, too. If the players of clarinets are anything like I see in
most community bands, they won't even know what the problem is. And the
majority of band directors are just as clueless!
