My Langenscheidt's comes up with "schlagen" v/t: defined as stroke, beat,
hit, punch, slap, etc. It can go on and on . . .

Hi Gary,
is it perhaps 'schlagel' meaning 'drumstick' (from schlagen - to strike)?
Best wishes,

I have a saxophone quartet that I am putting on my website. Each of the
members occasionally plays a percussion instrument. I have not been able
to identify one of them which is a "Schlegel."
I have not been able to find anything helpful on the internet although
one translation site translated it as "flail."
Thanks,
Gary
