Subj: [kl] Adjustable clarinet Barrel
Date: Tue, 22 Nov 2011 21:39:05 -0500

It looks like a good gross tuning device, these adjustable barrels.

There is much more to intonation and a beautiful sound that just the length
of the barrel.

The inner and outer design are very important in color, intonation from
register to register, and for the odd notes on the clarinet. I could go on.

It might be nice to have a barrel that will shorten 4 millimeters with a
turn of the hand. Very important when it is 30 degrees or 100 degrees
outside it seems.

I think there is more to a great professional quality barrel than just that
single feature though.
