If you can find in your boatload the number 1 issue of the Superman Comic book, you are going to be a happy man. There are other comix for which the early issues are quite valuable. Look for Batman, Spiderman, etc.

Look online for someone who sells comic books and solicit their help, but I doubt if it will be for free. WhenI was about 16, my father, who owned a stationary story in Suffern, NY, put the issue number 1 of Playboy on the shelf. If only I had kept them, but my father made sure I did not see naked ladies.

Sigh.
