I found the biggest challenge to be putting the right one in my mouth at the
right time. I did have an "Oh b*gg*r" moment a microsecond before entry
followed by some hasty transposition!

I'm currently preparing the clarinet 3 part for Mahler 5 for a concert in
a couple of weeks. I have very small hands but don't find the changes a
problem. In this symphony the very fast changes are from C to Bb and
between
Bb and A, both are requiring me either to transpose a little or have a
second mouthpiece and reed set up. The bass and D parts are not too close
in
time to each other. I think the challenge I will face is getting all 5
instruments onto and off the stage.
