Subj: [kl] The Ojai Music Festival

The Ojai music festival is one of the longer running festivals in the US.
The 2012 festival will be the 66th. Throughout the history of the festival,
there have been some pretty amazing folks associated with it- many from the
new music world. Composers such as Foss, Boulez, Reich and others are a
regular occurrence there.

This coming summer is no exception- the Norwegian Chamber Orchestra will be
in residence with the festival's music director Leif Ove Andsnes. Why am I
posting about a festival headlined by a pianist on the Klarinet list?
Because one of the artists that will be playing a lot is clarinetist Martin
Fr=F6st. He's going to be doing a lot- some major repertoire and some not.=

Those in the LA area are probably familiar with it- concerts outdoors in a
beautiful little community inland from the shore a short distance. I highly
recommend keeping it on your radar and if you can see yourself in the LA
area next June, you won't be disappointed. I've been doing the sound out
there for a few years now and this festival is probably the musical
highlight of my year every year.
