California is waging a battle with on-line vendors, such as Amazon, to force
them to collect taxes on all purchases. Amazon was going to push for a
proposition to fight this, but has agreed to start collecting in the future.
The details have not been worked out yet. Even though I do quite a bit of
Internet buying, I have mixed emotions about this taxing scheme. Counties in
CA have varying tax rates, so what will the rate be?
