I have had several root canals over the years, without it really affecting
my playing one way or the other. I have avoided extraction (other than
wisdom teeth), so can't comment on that. I have had root canal failure,
with oral surgery repair through the gum. Being a wimp, I had this done
under general anesthesia, and was playing shortly afterward (within a week).
If you have a root canal, be sure to use the best endodontist you can find.
All that added practice helps with procedures as much as clarinet playing
and really makes a difference in your comfort and the outcome.

I am also curious about the expeirence of others with implants, as that may
be needed down the road.

Your pre-fluoride colleague,
PWM
