I would just not play the notes. Ive played pieces on Bb clarinet that were written for A just becuase I didn't feel like brining both instruments and only needed it for that one piece so I just sight transposed the important stuff and faked it for the rest and no one knew the difference. I definitely would not under any circumstance bring a bass clarinet. I also wouldn't even tell anyone about this. I would just fake it. As they say.. its better to beg for forgiveness than to ask permission. ;) Tom
