Start with 1500 and deduct the price of an overhaul. (I just sold mine for 1500
in good shape, same circa)

Subject: [kl] Estimated value of clarinet

Hello list,
I am considering selling my R13 clarinet manufactured in the 70's. It is in good
condition - never any cracks - but it does need a complete overhaul and the
keys, looking worn but in good condition, need to be refurbished for esthetics.
There is a student near me who would like to purchase it but I have no idea what
to ask for it. Does anyone have a good idea as to what is a fair price? I
hesitate to price this instrument according to what is listed on eBay. The horn
has had one original owner. I can either overhaul it and keep it as a backup or
sell it "as is" in which case, I have no backup. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Shannon
