I have a recording of Alan Hacker playing various early clarinet-like
instruments including a no-keyed chalumeau. I also know that Charlie
Neidich has performed as a member of (sp?) Mozafiato, but I don't
know offhand what recordings they have done, if any. Look on Amazon
or some such. I'm sure that there are lots and lots of recordings, if
you know the names of the performers. I'll bet if you search under
early music + clarinet + original instrument + chalumeau + recordings
or any combination thereof, you'll find them.

You don't get harmony when everybody sings the same note.

Does anyone have any recordings of someone performing on a pre-1800's
clarinet? You know those ones that people have pictures of but don't
know
if they work? I'm curious if they sound anything like the more modern
clarinets.
