I concur. The ring is probably just a trifle overtight now, causing
wood-on-wood contact at that point. The problem might even go away in the
winter, but if the tech just shimmed rather than shrinking the ring, it
should be very easy to fix. Or a little judicious sandpaper work would
probably do it, too.
